I just discovered there are several 'oz' titles by Baum..anyone read these and can say how they compare to the common one the movie is based on?

I've never read them, but you might ask in the fantasy section.  I'm sure someone there is bound to respond!

My grandmother has several of the "OZ" titles that I read when I was a kid. I can't really say how they compare to The Wizard of Oz since I haven't read them in forever but I do remember liking them very much as a child.

I read a couple as a kid, but I couldn't tell you the first thing about them now!! I should probably read them again... just saw a copy of the Wizard of Oz at my FOL sale the other day, maybe I'll pick it up!

He wrote a lot of them, we have about 8. My kids LOVE them.  I also loved these as a child. The writing is a bit old-fashioned, but doesn't talk down to kids. Here's the list:

I've never read the ones by other people, so I don't know. I'd try them out at the library first. Good hunting!
