An inspiring book for women on the path of spiritual and self-development. Library Journal says: "King interviews ten spiritual healers about their lives and work in such fields as metaphysics, recovery from addiction and sexual abuse, family therapy, and death and dying. Among those interviewed are Virginia Satir, Claudia Black, Anne Wilson Schaef, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, and Louise Hay. Parallels abound: most came from dysfunctional families and suffered from abuse or neglect, many had near-death or psychic experiences, and all profess environmental and feminist values. Each woman has not only survived trauma but experienced self-transformation generated by inner wisdom and trust. Each then went beyond the self to share her knowledge with others. The intriguing personal narratives captivate the reader."
