I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for good Christian women's fiction, not really romance novels and not really mysteries, but something that deals with some issues that women have to deal with.  I wish I could express myself a little better about what I am looking for--perhaps friendship, single parenthood, aging parents, finding love in later years... maybe not too preachy too...any links, lists or suggestions  will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd suggest anything by Robin Jones Gunn.  Her Sisterchicks series will make you want to grab your best friend and go off on a girly adventure.

The Yada Yada books would probably be a good choice also by Neta Jackson.

Here is a link to the first in the series:

I've been impressed by Lynn Austin's work. She's amazing!

Here are several that I have really liked.  They are real women dealing with normal things and the books are well written.

Club Sandwich and Quaker Summer by Lisa Samson

A Stitch in Time by Allison Bottke

Symphony of Secrets (a little mystery but fun) by Sharon Hinck

A new one to me is Joy DeKok... AMAZING novel about abortion and fertility called Rain Dance.

My review on it will be posted on December 15..... Check it out....

RV There Yet? by Diann Hunt was pretty good..I actually liked the last part of it best and wish there had been a sequel...I'm not sure about her other stuff..I have some in mt tbr and a couple on the way but haven't read them yet.

I read the first Sisterchicks book and it was good. There weren't too many people to keep track of - I tried the Yada Yada's 1st book and pretty much gave up..my attention span isn't always good and I was wanting to relax but found the  number of characters and spouses/kids overwhelming though I keep thinking I'll go back and try again. a lot of books that introduce too many characters at once have the same effect with me.

I"ve found a few authors who aren't writing christian fiction to be pretty decent and 'clean'  - sheila roberts is the lastest and yes On Strike for Christmas about did me on characters to keep track of LOL but Angel Lane I was able to follow no problem...Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series was pretty good, and for more romance oriented though some other stuff Curtiss Ann Matlock was good.

I mostly read romance but enjoy a good women's fiction book every now and then and also older characters since I'm in my 40's so I'm looking forward to seeing more christian suggestions!
