A very interesting book. After having served in today's military (Viet Nam era) it is sometimes a shock to me to really understand what the youngsters of the 1940s accomplished.
George Loving was trained to be a fighter pilot in 1943-45. He flew over 100 missions. He became an ace, was promoted to captain and served as a squadron commander. He participated in some of the roughest air missions of World War II. And then, after having done all that... he celebrated his 21st birthday.
