i picked up a book from the $ store the other day and just went to post it however... there is no isbn on the cover, at least none that i can see.  there is however a upc sticker on the back that says hardcover book that may be covering up the isbn.  i cant cleanly remove the sticker to find out.  on the posting page it does say i can use the isbn from the book publisher page at the front  of the book.  problem is, there are 2.  one has the isbn (trade) and the other has a different isbn (lib. bldg.)  not sure what either means, so which do i use?  and can i even post it if the sticker might be covering the isbn?  im assuming its ok to post since its hardcover and the dust jacket isnt required which is where the isbn would be.  ugh i think im over thinking this and confusing myself.  haha.

Yes, it can still be posted.  The second ISBN if for "library binding".  These books are hardcover books (sometimes without a dust jacket) that have reinforced spines and covers so they can better withstand the use of multiple library patrons.  "Trade" usually refers to a trade size paperback (bigger than Mass Market Paperbacks) but can occasionally stand for a regular hardcover copy too.

I would use the ISBN in the front to post, but just make sure whichever one you choose matches the title, author, binding, and ISBN exactly.  If one doesn't match, try the other.  And if both don't match, you can use the Post Without An ISBN page.

Look around on the copyright page some more, those two are not for your book they are for other versions (trade is the larger paperback and lib binding wouldn't be sold new retail). It may be listed mixed in to the text separate from those two. Otherwise, I would say you are going to want to work on getting the ISBN uncovered by that sticker.

Actually the trade isbn matches the book description (hard cover).  I manged to get the upc sticker off and its the same isbn.  Need to work on getting the glue residue off though.  Thanks for the help.

As long as the system says its a hard cover for that ISBN you are good to go.
