Am I misinterpreting this?   I just received a workbook for my child that I had WL for some time.    I received no PM telling me that many pages were written in.      Thanks in advance!

  • Exception: if it is a textbook or workbook, these are expected to have highlighting/underlining/writing
    • if you post a textbook/workbook, the condition must be described to the requestor in a Personal Message
    • AND the described condition MUST BE AGREED TO in a reply PM before the book is sent
    • This is the one of the ONLY two cases in which a PM exchange about a book is required before the book can be sent(the other is for cookbooks--see below

Yes, the sender is required to send you a PM about the condition (if it is written in); and wait for a response from you, before it is mailed.

You should probably RWAP the book, since you didn't get a PM, and ask for your credit back, if you are inclined to.

I'm a homeschool mom and recently had to put requestor conditions on re-stating that rule. I order many text and workbooks and some I don't mind some writing in certain books, but other make the book not usable. Writing in traditional books makes them non-postable and I hate reading over someone elses notes.  I really want to have the choice on whether to accept or not. not be disappointed once the book arrives.

Without a PM and agreement I'd call that RWAP

    Thanks, all.

I did RWAP and PM'd the sender.    She was absolutely polite and apologetic.   Said she was new here and asked for patience and returned my credit.     What a pleasure to deal with someone reasonable and polite!!!

Thanks again and take heart--there are a lot of nice PBSers out there!
