This is a great expose on the life of the working poor.

David Shipler brings the impovershed into the light in his book. The poverty situation is expressed through multiple interviews and old stories of those unfortunate people, and in a grim sort of way. The Working Poor is a book that reminds the reader that even basic and common posessions should not be taken for granted.
