Eddison's groundbreaking fantasy epic - heroic griffon riders, malevolent sorcerors and their wine-bibbing generals, fair damsels, court intrigue, all topped off by arcane vocabulary and extensive menu listings. Good plot, but the pseudo-old English makes it a little difficult to read in large doses. Still a must for any truly serious fantasy fan.

1. Mistress of Mistresses

2. The Worm Ouroboros

3. A Fish Dinner in Memison

4. The Mezentian Gate

This is book #2 of the 4 part series. Eddison is compared to Tolkin and created a fantastic world.

Rich and absorbing as J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings."
