Should I send this person a message - I received a book today just in the PBS wrapper, no plastic, and with highlighting in the book - but that is all beside the problem. The wrapper was printed on 're-used' paper, and when I opened it I couldn't help noticing that it was a loan schedule for a person - not the sender. It contained name, address, work info and SS# for this person. I don't want to over react but I would be livid if someone sent out my info like this. If I contacted the bank I assume this would be a huge problem for the sender. Should I mention it in my book received message? Any suggestions for wording? |

I'd notify TPTB on the survey form, I'd notify the sender and I would probably send the information to the person whose personal information has been sent out as they now need to watch their credit report and protect themselves. |

That's simply terrifying. How thoughtless (at best) of the sender. |

This is a very serious problem and it is UNACCEPTABLE! I agree with Christy: "I'd notify TPTB on the survey form, I'd notify the sender and I would probably send the information to the person whose personal information has been sent out as they now need to watch their credit report and protect themselves." Additionally, I would probably send a feedback message immediately. |

TPTB= The Powers That Be. In other words use the contact us link to let the site management know what happened. |

TPTB is The Powers that Be...
That's quite a story -- wrapping in someone's loan application! Thanks for not posting an image of it!!! |

Not over-reacting Margaret, that sort of information is protected by privacy laws. Careless if it's a family member or friend, criminal if the wrapper was printed at work. |

A friend of mine did that in HS. She printed out something for one of our projects on the back of her sisters tax return info. |

Perfect answer. I would be beyond pi**** if someone sent out my SS#. Their lucky your an honest person and wouldn't take advantage of it. |

WOW! Yeah that's a total Privacy Laws violation. And it's probably against company policy for the place that the loan came from. I wonder if she works there? |

Turns out it was her husbands info, I guess that makes it okay or at least she thinks so....... Last Edited on: 9/1/10 4:45 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Well, that answers one question. Stupid, but not criminal. Seriously, what could she possibly have been thinking? |

I received a book PBS wrapped in a doctor's form that gave me all sorts of info on someone's innards...their cholesterol level, their blood pressure, their heart rate, their height, weight, BMI...all numbers which I would not want anyone to know about me. Whatever happened to privacy? And wouldn't these be the first people to holler "Identity Theft"? |

We use to go gt scratch paper from the recycling bin at the high school, which is right across the street from us. We were going through it and cutting sheets into 1/4's Came across the doctors findings about the sperm count of one of the teachers at the high school and he was shooting blanks....which would explain why they have adopted children!!?
