I have a children's book I'd like to have published with illustrations already done.  What is the best way to go about getting it published?  Thanks for any advice.

Are you wanting to self-publish or try for a publishing house?

I don't know much about self-publishing, but if you are wanting the traditional publishing house (that pays advances, royalties, etc.) you might want to start by joining the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.  They have a wealth of information as well as good advice.  Here is a link:  http://www.scbwi.org/

Good luck!

See if your local library has the Writers Market book, they usually have one that is for Childrens books.  Or even flip through the Writer's Market if they have it. Usually they have a section for Children's books in the main edition. They might also list writing compeitions you could enter.

I have six published children's books--all with traditional publishers.

Start by getting a Writer's Market (the children's book one).  That will tell you how to submit and who to submit to.  The  book is pricey, but you can always check one out at the library.  Be sure to get one that is no more than a year old (they come out each year).
