It's only the 2nd book I've requested.  The packing slip says my name and the book I ordered.  But the book was something else.  I'm going back to peruse the help section. But so far it just talks about how to find the sender. I know who sent the book.  What I don't know is what to do about getting the wrong one. I'll guess I'll pm her and see if I need to send this to someone else and will that person send me my book.  Will I get a credit for the extra book I'll have to send?  Will I get the credit I spent on the book I wanted back if it can't be found?

Mary --

The first thing to do is PM the sender. It sounds like she probably just switched two books and got them into the wrong envelopes. She may not realize there's a problem yet if you're the first one to receive the wrong book, so let her know.

Hopefully she only sent out a couple of books that day and she'll know right away who will get your book, but if she sent many books she may have to wait for them to arrive before she knows where the problem is. She can then PM that person and try to work something out.

  • She may ask both of you to forward the books to each other. If she does, she should either give you a credit or send you stamps or a Paypal payment to cover the postage cost.
  • One or both of you may decide you like the books you got and want to keep them.

At some point, you'll have to mark the book received with a problem, wrong book. The sender will get a credit when you do that. Then she'll have to redistribute credits to solve the problems. Whatever happens, it should be possible to work things out so that you only pay a credit for a book you actually want to read, and any extra expense you incur for straightening out this situation is reimbursed. You will have to be patient though. It might take weeks to get everything worked out with three or more people involved.

Ok that explained it better than I found in the help center.  I did PM her. I have no interest in the book that was sent to me.
