I tend not to read much YA (because I love some steaminess in my novels), but when I do....I like to read ones that involve vampires.
I have one stimulation, I want a YA that borders as being an adult book. I want to stay away from books that are too "teeny".
I am currently reading Christopher Pike's Thirst series. I read the first story "The Last Vampire" and enjoyed it. I think I liked it because the main Vampire was old and the setting was taking place in High School.
I heard that the House of Night series are pretty good...and I have the first one coming in the mail :)
So any suggestions for YA....but that are not too "teeny"???
AND---of course I have already read the Twilight Saga. haha :)
Well, I started the Twilight series when I was still in HS and I liked them...probably because I was a teenager and I could relate more .
By the time I got to "Breaking Dawn" (3 years later and a sophomore in college), I realized I did not enjoy the read as much as I did when I read "Twilight" in HS. I found Bella to be extremely annoying.

House of Night is so teeny. If you like really grungy vampires go with Thirsty by M.T. Anderson. I'm also a big advocate for anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. She was thirteen when she wrote her first book, but they really do stand on their own. I second Vampire Academy.
Thanks everyone for the recommendations! :)
I got Morganville Vampires Vol. 1 (Glass House/The Dead Girl's Dance. I'm excited to start the series.
Also, I am wishing for the first book in the Vampire Academy's series.
When reading paranormal, I tend to only enjoy reading about vampires. I do not like reading ones that have the main character being a werewolf. However, I have in the past been interested in witch series.
I saw the Immortals series books by Alyson Noel. The covers are so cute! Any suggestions on those????
The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead is really good! and I don't know if you have read The Hollow Series by Kim Harrison but it is also great....it is more adult material and it isn't just about vamps...there are witches, demons, elves, pixies...but I loved it...there are 9 books so far and it keeps getting better!!! The Black Dagger Broderhood series by J. R. Ward is also very good and the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris...but these are books for adults.

I actually got the first Hollow Series book through a deal :) So I should be getting that in the mail shortly.
I have read the Charlaine Harris books...along with other adult "vampire" series. That's why I was asking about soom good YA books that involve vampires. lol
As for the Black Dagger Brotherhood series...that is on my reminder list. I plan on giving that series a shot.
Oh Amanda...you're goona love The Hollows, Rachel Morgan and her dangerous life and all her CRAZY friends and lovers LOL...actually I got the frist 4 books of that series in an omnibus....to be honest I didn't like much the first one but since I had all the other in the same book I kept reading and I'm so glad I did! After I finished the fist 4 I was totally adicted to the series and I had to buy all the others because I just cound't wait...and it is killing me that i'm gonna have to wait a year to get #10...because #9 (Pale Demon) was just too good to be true LOL
The Morganville Vampire books are great! Love the whole series. Melissa Marr's WICKED LOVELY series is about faeries, so if you want to stick with vampires you should probably give them a pass.
House of Night is good up until the third or fourth book then I couldn't take that series anymore....I love the Vampire Academy series and anything else Richelle Mead writes, lol....I've heard great things about the Morganville Vampires series.....Black Dagger Brotherhood is very good, but definitely adult!! I don't know if you've read them, but Nicole Peeler's Jane True series might be to your liking-features a vampire among lots of other creatures and steamy.
And I agree that Bella got more annoying as the series progressed, but like you I was going from hs to college so maybe that had something to do with it. I also think Kristen Stewart is annoying as Bella!!
I really enjoy the Hallows series, and I am currently reading the 4th installment, so I can continue on with her newer books that are out.
Ok as for Teen books I am just going to name them. I used to work at a bookstore, and at one time, we had a whole display of these books. Here it goes..
Nightworld Series and The Vampire Diaries (also now a tv show on the CW)- both by L. J. Smith (other books of hers inclue The Secret Circle seires, The Forbidden Game, and Dark Visions, most of these books are 3 for 1. Some have recurring characters.
House of Night by P. C. Cast (her teen series, but she also has books in Romance, the Goddess titles, and a Sci Fi series.
Morganville Vampires Rachel Caine
Vampire Academy by Rachel Mead
Blue Bloods series by Melissa De la Cruz
Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber (there are regular novels and manga)
Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan
Vladimir Todd Series by Heather Brewer (usually called 7th grade bites, or 8th grade bites)
Betrayed by Morgan Rice (that is just one title, there are others in the series)
Here are some adult titles:
Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison (classified as Horror or Sci Fi)
The Night Huntress Series by Jeanine Frost (Romance)
Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward (Romance)
Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris (Romance, also has book in Mystery)
Dresden Files by Jim Butcher (this series has some vamps, but if you like Kim Harrison, you might like these)
Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs ( similar to Butcher, in that the vamps are more side characters, feature more fairies, wolve, shapshifters, etc. )
Laurell K. Hamilton is usally very popular as well.
I agree that the Morganville Vampire series is good, it's entertaining.
