What is/are your favorite genre(s)?

I go through phases.  I tend to browse in history, education, current events, and biography in book stores, but I will read a lot of fun fiction (Like Ella Minnow Pea or the Thursday Next series), historical mysteries like The Flanders panel, or classics

Memoirs, offbeat fiction

What genre do you find easiest to read?

Offbeat fiction

Currently, it's educational books because I'm in the middle of my master's program in special education.  When I had room to keep books, I had a lot of fiction of all sorts and philosophical whatnots

What genre do you love but usually just read and post?

I post pretty much everything because we live in an apartment made for midgets, and don't have the space to keep all the books I read.  I repost memoirs dealing with special ed or loss quickly, because people seem to have those on their wish lists, and I figure they probably need to read, or need to hear the message in them.

What genre(s) do you avoid (if any)?

I am not a fan of the throwaway romance "novel", and have a hard time getting into most sci fi.

What is the genre of the book you are currently reading?

Memoir

What is the genre of the next book you PLAN to read?

I seem very one-dimensional in this book survey, don't i?

I never really read any chick lit til i joined here. Now i read it and have been enjoying it. Fantasy and Sci-Fi is my number one favorite genre, and they are the ones i keep the most often now.

I read a lot more than Fantasy and Chick Lit... but lately, i seem to be reading more of these than anything.

Some of my favorite books have been Prehistoric fiction, but this is a small genre... i have to wait on books to come out.

What is/are your favorite genre(s)? Urban fantasy, soft science fiction, mainstream/women's fiction, memoirs... but I also read lots of stuff that doesn't fit into those categories.

What genre do you actually find yourself reading most often? It depends. I go through phases where I'll read a lot of books in a particular genre; then I'll move on to something else.

What genre do you find easiest to read? That depends more on the individual book than on the genre, I find.

What genre(s) take up most of your keeper shelves? All the ones listed above, plus various other stuff. I probably have more science fiction and fantasy than anything else.

What genre do you love but usually just read and post? I'm still fairly new to the site, but so far I haven't found a particular genre that I'm more likely to swap than to keep. It really depends on the individual books for me.

What genre(s) do you avoid (if any)? Mystery, nonfiction, romance, historical... but there's some nonfiction and some romance that I like, and I've been known to go through obsessive phases with both of them. And I like historical if the plot sounds interesting enough, or if it's in a time period that interests me. So it's not an absolute rule.

What is the genre of the book you are currently reading? Science fiction (The Life of the World to Come by Kage Baker).

What is the genre of the last book you read? Science fiction... it was in the same series. (Black Projects, White Knights by Kage Baker)

What is the genre of the next book you PLAN to read? Memoir (Over My Head by Claudia L. Osborn).

What was the genre of the last book you posted here? Science fiction (a book of Star Trek stories someone well-meaning but misguided got me as a gift - I like Star Trek, but prefer to stick to the shows).
