This is thought to be J.S. first novel but not the first she published. It was writtn in the 50's. It's very interesting to compare her writing style then to Valley of the dolls.
It was a space travel story and a love story
Ms. Susann has created quite a plot for our protagonist, Janet, who is drearily preparing to marry the man who unromantically calls her, "Honey Girl" when she is unexpectedly swept away into space, having been mistaken for a famous scientist. She goes through such trials as learning that she will be sent to live on Mars, getting her envoy on the way to Mars kidnapped by Venusians, nearly becomes the "Mother" of the new Venusian race, and finds love in the leader of Yargo, The Yargo himself. Along the way, she learns much about herself, and the human race, from the woman who is appointed to watch over her during her stay on Yargo and on the trip to Mars and beyond.
