I loved this book. It is funny and a hilarious commentary on Japanese pop culture. Not recommended if you are pregnant and eat meat (but recommended if you're not yet pregnant and might be willing to be talked out of eating meat!).
What a teriffic author! I had previously read her later novel, "All Over Creation", which I loved. This did not disappoint! I hope she keeps on going. Warning--you may never want to eat a steak again...
Surprisingly disturbing, just in the things it makes you think about. But a good read overall!
Imagine a brilliant cross between Diet for a Small Planet and Bridget Jones's Diary.
engaging characters, disturbing research presented suspensefully...highly recommended.
This book was great. Funny, sharp and informative. Read it.
Fantastic book! Amazing insight and beautifully written.
This book is a bit disturbing because of the content of the story. Still it is a wonderful book, that is both extremely enjoyable and yet extremely thought provoking! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down!
A sexy and funny cross-cultural tale of two seemingly disparate women that is "a feast that leaves you hungry for whatever Ozeki cooks up next" --- Newsweek
a quirky book that didn't quite do it for me.
well written, and informative.
