P.T. Deutermann's latest is a topnotch topical thriller bursting with the expected expertise and insider knowledge he picked up as a Navy captain and arms control specialist. It's also something else: an unexpectedly resonant portrait of people, good and bad, who have been chewed up and spit out by military bureaucracies.

Another great thriller with a military background, which is the forte of P.T. Deutermann. This one involves a missing cannister of "Wet Eye," a biological weapon, and David Stafford's desperate search to find it before it is sold to an arms dealer. Stafford must not only fight the bad guys, he must also rip through the military's bureaucracy and cover-up.

I really liked the main male character; he wasn't perfect, but real. I thought the ending was just right.
