Book Description:
Let Rachel Gibson tell you about the trouble with Valentine's Day: that one day each year when being single is a sin.

Kate Hamilton should know. Dumped by her boyfriend, stressed out by her job, she's returned to Gospel, Idaho, for some rest and small-town fun. But when her first attempted seduction of a hunky stranger is completely rejected, she wonders what else could go wrong?

Well, for starters, she quickly realizes that the Mountain Momma Crafters' original poetry readings is about as good as it gets on a Friday night. Then she comes face-to-face with Rob Sutter, former ice hockey madman, owner of Sutter Sports -- and the hunky stranger who told her to get lost.

Rob's been more than burned by love -- but then he and Kate find themselves in an ultra-compromising position in the M & S Market after hours, giving the phrase "clean-up in aisle five" a whole new meaning, and causing a whole lot of gossip in Gospel ...

I loved this book! I like Rachel Gibson's funny and irreverent writing style, and I also felt she captured the heroine Kate's insecurities in a way that made me feel Kate's pain in dealing with men. There's just enough of that in the story to give it depth without too much angst. The hero Rob has some issues of his own - he rejects her proposition in the opening scene but when you read his story, you'll understand why. Now if they can only resolve their feelings about past loves... Well, sure they do, it's a Romance!

If you can trudge through the first 50 page which are heavy with backstory, this is a fun romance.

This book is a fun book to read. It is about Kate Hamilton who decides to throw caution into the wind and makes a proposition to a stranger just to be turned down. She moves to help her grandfather and runs into the stranger again.

*Starred Review* Kate Hamilton is a private detective on hiatus because after she helped a man find his family, he turned out to be a homicidal maniac. She is looking for some R & R at her widowed grandfather's house in Gospel, Idaho. En route, she stops at a ski lodge in Sun Valley and decides to break her own rules by having a one-night stand with a gorgeous man. But much to her chagrin, he not only turns her down, he also lectures her. Rob Sutter wants nothing to do with loose women in bars. His last partner in forbidden love was a pyscho stalker who shot him, ending his career as a professional hockey player. When Kate gets to her grandfather's, she meets his new friend, none other than the dream guy from the ski lodge. Now Kate has to prove to Rob that she is not really a slut. Unabashed matchmakers, including a romantic, second-time-around older couple and some of the world's worst poets, populate the close-knit community that award-winning Gibson brings so vividly to life in this heartwarming, small-town romance filled with humor, charm, and passion.
