At the start, it's so much like "The Sound of Music" it's distracting, but get past that bit and it's a very sweet book. Well, aside from Christina Dodd's signature hot and steamy bits. ;) I liked it, would recommend to others!

Sam was a pickpocket but became a governess with some help for a lady and she was put in the position of taking care of 6 girls and they did not know that her former life was being a thief to survive..

Another great historical romance by one of the best. The governess falls for the widowed father.

This six, and final, book in the Governess Brides Series was as wonderful as the rest of the series ... I loved them all!

Predictable story, a rainy day read. ok book.

Another good one from Christina Dodd. I couldn't put it down.

When Miss Samantha Prendregast arrives at Devil's Fell to take charge of six rebellious girls, the vibrant, outspoken governess is not quite prepared to deal with the tall, dark, and dashing master of the grand estate. The children she can manage with intelligence, guile, and a little bribery. Their widowed father, Colonel William Gregory, is not so easily charmed---and far too easy to fall in love with, which she dare not do.

William always cherished the orderliness of his life, until this captivating troublemaker began flouting his authority, and distracting him with her witty defiance and breathtaking beauty. Despite the fact that they clash at every meeting, William finds himself inexplicably drawn to Samantha's fire. And now he's even contemplating marriage, which would be sweet madness indeed.

But before he can successfully woo her, William must discover what it is taht Samantha is hiding from him. But the secret the lady is preciously guarding is far too shocking and dangerous to ever reveal.....

If you like Christina Dodd, then you will like this book. The heroine knows how to put everyone in their place, and does it with love and witt.
