I really enjoyed this historical romance. A young girl on the edge of adulthood, who's been raised by her 3 older brother decides she needs some rebellion and an adventure before she settles for a spouse. Her oldest brother secretly hires his best friend, who is a known womanizer, to watch over her and ensure she doesn't fall into scandal. ...and you can guess the rest.

Smart heroine struggling for her "freedom" in Regency England coupled with a hardened rake (who might actually have a conscience?) leads to witty dialogue and a swift moving plot. A really fun, smart read!

I enjoyed this book a great deal, however, not as much as the third book of this series. The tension between Eleanor and Valentine was sometimes a nail-biter, especially on Val's part.

GREAT AUTHOR! I actually laughed out loud at some parts!

If she is to become a boring society wife, then she's going to have some fun first. But when her adventure turns into more than what she bargained for, she is grateful for her knight in shining armour who rescued her from what was sure to become a scandalous situation.
My first book by this author. Well drawn characters, excellent dialogue, and a very interesting story. I will definitely look for more books by Enoch.
