Book Description:
There's something about Emmaline that just makes her irresistible to Baron Sedgwick - the fact that she's completely imaginary. He made up a wife with unfortunately poor health to get matchmaking mamas of the town to leave him alone. But then his imaginary bride starts running up bills on Bond Street for the finest clothing and to redecorate Sedgwick's townhouse, so he goes up to investigate. Emmaline has made her way by her wits, and by her skill at cards for the past several years, so when a chance to impersonate a baron's wife - and to win a stake at the town's most famous cardgame - comes her way, she simply cannot say no. The question is, can she convince Sedgwick's greedy cousins that she is the baroness, and will Sedgwick let her stay long enough to try?

Regency romance - Baron Sedgwick invents a fiancee to keep the mamas of the ton off his back. But then Emmaline, his non-existent fiancee, shows up at his townhouse & takes over his world.
She charms his servants, his family, the ton, & finally him. Lighthearted, enchanting, romantic.

Great book, lots of good dialog and laughs. My only complaint is the ending is kind of to tidy but it is well worth the read. This is part of a great regency series.

A great light-hearted romp through Regency England. I love the way the hero gets his comeuppance by having his make-believe wife show up.

This book is about a man that invents a wife to keep other women away, but finds a woman in his bedchamber that says she is is wife. It is a very interesting book and keeps you in suspense all the time. It keeps you smiling at the escapades she gets into.

Great story! Written proof of one lie leading to another and how impossible it is to get out of them once they start. Suprise ending that will make the whole book even better!

I liked this book, it was cute and sweet and funny, it serves him right for making up a wife. They cant get angry at one another for lying becuase they are both lying about his "wife". this book is light and quick to get through and although i have not enjoyed everything by this author i would recommend this book to any historical romance fan
