Book Description:
Welcome to the world of Mary Kay Andrews, where manners are polished, reputations are tarnished... and revenge is sweet.

Keeley Murdock's wedding to A. J. Jernigan should have been the social event of the season. But when she catches her fiance doing the deed with her maid of honor at the country club rehearsal dinner, all bets are off. And so is the wedding. Keeley pitches the hissy fit of the century, earning herself instant notoriety in the small town of Madison, Georgia.

Even worse is the financial pressure A.J.'s banking family brings to bear on Keeley's interior design business. But riding to the rescue -- in a vintage yellow Cadillac -- is the redheaded stranger who's purchased a failing local bra plant. Will Mahoney hires Keeley to redo the derelict antebellum mansion he's bought. Her assignment: decorate it for the woman of his dreams -- a woman he's never met. Only a designing woman like Keeley Murdock can find a way to clear her name and give her cheating varmint of an ex-fiance the comeuppance he so richly deserves. And only Mary Kay Andrews can deliver such delicious social satire. With Hissy Fit, she's created a story as outrageous, dishy, and true as Savannah Blues and Little Bitty Lies.

A good read, especially if you know about antiques and decorating, and even if you aren'tt, it's still fun to read and figure out what things really are.

I dont like to read yearning, burning romances. This is NOT one of those. The back cover has a review that accurately tells it all,"the right combination of romance, mystery, and sharp funny writing." Not one of those themed mysteries either. (I do like those). It is a book with a blend of reality that is refreshing and not painted on screwball dialogue or situations. But you always got to have a dog and a gay best friend, too. The characters are memorable and distinct from each other. Add what I have to say with some of the other summaries and I think you will, get the idea that this book is worth reading.

Hissy Fit will actually be an excellent read for those who DON'T prefer a lot of romance in their novels.

There was much to enjoy in this book; Keely is lead character who is smart and good at her job, doesn't take any crap from the man who does her wrong (not wishy washy) and doesn't let others bully her. I really appreciated that Mary Kay Andrews wrote a character that I really liked.

The book focuses on the restoration of an old plantation home which I think many readers would enjoy. But I found myself skimming the last fourth portion of the book once I realized there would be no development in the romantic relationship between Keeley and Will. Their romance consisted of three pages although I will admit it was a sweet three pages.

Anyway, if you are a reader of straight up romance novels I would not recommend Hissy Fit. But for you other readers, I think it would be a great novel.

This was one of the funniest books I had read in a long time. One of the authors best.
Small town people in messy life situations, each following their own drummer. Anyone who grew up in a small southern or midwest town will recognize people from their past. Loved it.

One of the most enjoyable reads I've read in a long time. It starts out with a bang and doesn't stop.

This book cracked me up! I loved how Keeley told her cheating fiance to stick it, even though he kept trying to come back after cheating with her best friend! I couln't put this one down!

I LOVED this book - I thought it was just going to be "fluff" but it had a great story to it and it actually took me several days to finish (im a speed reader) so that was a plus!

FUN! Mary Kay Andrews is hilarious. This is the second of her books that I've read, and they were both wonderfully funny, and fully of great, well-developed characters. The main character is very likeable and someone who most people will relate to on some level.

This is definitely a chick-lit, vacation, read-on-the-beach type of book. It's a quick, enjoyable read. Not too heavy, not a lot of work to plow through it, just an entertaining story. I want to get another of this author's books immediately!

This book captures the true essence of a "Southern Lady". I'm a Georgia girl so I can relate. I just loved this book! It was entertaining from beginning to end!

This book is more of Keely determining what happened to her mother who has been missing for the last 25 years. It's a good book.
