I loved this book. Of course, I've always liked Perry Mason. It was a fun approach to an old standby.

As a way-back-then Perry Mason fan and an Earle Stanley Gardener fan, this delightful book was a bit of a walk down memory lane, totally brought into this year. Easy, pleasant read.

The first Cece Caruso mystery, which mixes vintage fashion, mystery biography and a "cold case" murder mystery. Cece is doing a biography on Erle Stanley Gardner, the creator of the Perry Mason mystery novels. He was also a lawyer, and Cece's attention got caught on one of his prospective pleads for help- from a man who has been in prison for 40 years for a crime he swears he did not commit. When Cece goes to interview him, she gets caught in a mystery that has been buried for decades and she gets pulled into solving it. Along the way her daughter might divorce her beloved husband because of another secret, and Cece continues her journey to building a fantastic vintage clothing collection! I didn't like this one as much as the next in the series, "Not A Girl Detective", but it was still enjoyable and the mystery kept me turning pages longer than I planned. Cece is a great character and her intelligence and sense of humor make her a wonderful "cozy mystery" heroine.

Cece Caruso is writing a book about Perry Mason and his creator, Erle Stanley Gardner. As a big Perry Mason fan, I found all of the information about the books and their author to be wonderfully interesting. But there needs to more than that to make this a good mystery, and the necessary factors are definitely there. The author writes well, the characters are interesting and likeable, and plot is adequately mystifying, and the background is fascinating. Read the book.

I am not a fashionista, but I did have fun with the story. Great characters, and story line.

I highly tout this book as an enjoyable read. I'm a lover of vintage clothing and the protagonist is a collector which was an added bonus. Can't help but want to be friends with Cece Caruso!

A fun book, especially if you like vintage clothes and watched Perry Mason as a child.
