Book Description:
The illegitimate daughter of a prince and a notorious courtesan, Lucia has been confined to schools and convents for most of her life, but that hasn't stopped her from causing one scandal after another. Exasperated, her royal father decides his hellion of a daughter must be married immediately. And Sir Ian Moore, Britain's most proper diplomat, is the perfect man to choose her a groom.

Diplomacy, not matchmaking, is Ian's forte, and he vows to find a husband for Lucia as soon as possible so that he may return to important duties. Yet despite an abundance of eager, worthwhile candidates, none is a match for Lucia's spirit and fire. The more time Ian spends with the Italian beauty, the more reluctant he becomes to find her a groom. Could it be that Lucia's perfect husband is the man assigned to find her one?

The illegitimate daughter of an Italian prince and a well-known courtesan is one diplomat's hardest assignment. He must put aside his desire for the lovely Italian in order to bring her the best match to an English gentleman.

While the beautiful dialog between heroine and hero isn't as shining as in Guhrke's other works, this quick-paced read churns out a great anti-hero and story.

Book I picked up before a long plane trip. It's a nice bit of fluff for a day at the beach or something of that nature.

Prince Cesare of Bolgheri has had enough with the inappropriate behavior of his illegitimate offspring, whom he recently brought to his palace, though he blames all on her mother a courtesan. Sending Lucia to schools for troubled ladies and convents have only led to scandals and her being tossed out. At the end of his rope he decides his adult daughter needs a spouse to keep her in line; if nothing else Lucia would be someone else's royal pain in the butt.

Prince Cesare chooses highly regarded English diplomat, perfectly mannered Sir Ian Moore to find his devilish daughter a husband. Ian wants nothing to do with this impossible assignment as he knows of Lucia's hellcat ways and not just by reputation, but His Highness gives him no choice in the matter. Ian sets a goal to get Lucia off his hands by marrying her to off to some fool aristocrat. Candidates line up as Lucia is pretty, energetic, and wealthy. However, none in Ian's mind matches her élan for life except for one sleeper aspirant; Ian has fallen in love with the exasperating fireball and Lucia reciprocates those feelings though she recognizes that the prim and proper Englishman is her total opposite.

SHE'S NO PRINCESS is a lighthearted historical romance starring two 180 degrees diverse individuals who make a strong case that opposites attract. The amusing story line is fun to read as Ian has his hands filled with the unpredictable Lucia whether it is chess, billiards, or kisses. Regency romance readers will appreciate Laura Lee Guhrke's fine tale.

A battle of wits between an illegitimate daughter of a king and the diplomat ordered to find a match for her. Good read, nice and steamy.

Good story. Fun read.A Royal Pain... The illegitimate daughter of a prince and a notorious courtesan, Lucia has been confined to schools and convents for most of her life. But that hasn't stopped her from causing one scandal after another. Exasperated, her royal father decides that his exquisite hellion of a daughter must be married immediately. And Sir Ian Moore, Britain's most proper diplomat, is the perfect man to choose her a groom.
Diplomacy, not matchmaker, is Ian's forte, but he vows to get Lucia married off as soon as possible so that he may return to his real duties. Yet, despite an abundance of very eager, worthwhile candidates, none is a match for Lucia's spirit and fire. And the more time Ian spends with the infuriating beauty, the more reluctant he is to marry her off. Could it be that he has already found Lucia the perfect husband...and it is Ian himself?

What happens when Britian's most proper diplomat has to play matchmaker for the daughter of a notorious courtesan? Trouble---especially for him.
