This book entertaining, warm, and absolutely hilarious! I loved it. My 87 year old dad loved and my 33 year old daughter loved it.

Marley & Me by John Grogan is a "must read" for dog lovers. I tried it for my first audio book, and it made the miles fly! But I did have to save the last disk for home - it's hard to see the road through the tears.

It's a true story of a young yellow lab and his family growing up together. Marley is not the perfect dog, but how many of those do we find in real life. There are tender moments that brings a tear to the eye, and there are the hillarious episodes that made me laugh out loud. Then there are the events that I just shake my head and think - just like my dogs.

Note: Not a "Lassie" style tale for children

Excellent story, especially if you are a pet lover.

I laughed and cried. If you love dogs this book is for you!

Cute - but kinda of predictable at the end. (But then again I am not a dog person)

“Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog John Grogan”

I give this book Two Paws Up. Loved it!!! I've listened to it on CD no less than five times.

“Marley & Me” will take you on adventures that will make you laugh so hard you cry. It is a “Must Read” for anyone who owns a Labrador. You will develop a special bond with Marley and John. I think every dog owner, or everyone who thought of owning a dog should read this wonderful book.

The only hard part for me was towards the end of the book as Marley aged, just as all lifelong companions do. I could relate to all that Marley (the dog) was dealing with and the questions and answers of John & his family. Like I told my friends, if you need to stop before the last chapter or two….you will still have a wonderful read.

For myself, I am happy that I did not stop reading as Marley age. The last chapter touched my heart. If you can deal with the age issue….get a box of tissues and read on.

Also you may want to note there are two versions of this book:

(1) “Marley & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog John Grogan” (First book?)

(2) Marley: A Dog Like No Other - Reading Level: Ages 9-12 (same story…but age appropriate for younger readers)

I have both versions and I've enjoyed both. This is one book (or 2) I will be keeping for myself and will be buying copies to give as gifts.
