Georgia Senator Will Lee is given a terrific opportunity to make a run for the presidency when he is told by the current Vice President that they would not be campaigning for it. The Run gives a glossed over account of what a presidential run is like from the beginning to Election Day. It's filled with the usual dirty politics and mud slinging as well as a person from Will's past that has a grudge to settle with him.
The book was just an o.k. read for me in as much as I really didn't care for the main character at all and found myself more interested in the assassins story line and actually started rooting for him towards the end.

A respected senator from Georgia, Will Lee has aspirations of more. But a cruel stroke of fate thrusts him onto the national stage well before he expects, and long before he's ready for a national campaign. From back cover
I enjoyed all of this series of books.
A respected senator from Georgia is thrust onto the national stage with more than one opponet who wants him out of the race. He's become the target of enemies from his past who want him dead.
Another fascinating book by stuart woods. A political drama that keeps you intrigued!!

Next to the Alex Cross series, this continuation of his greatest piece of work (my opinion)CHIEFS .
Senator Will Lee from GA has aspirations for higher office... if he isn't killed first.
A fabulous series, especially if you enjoy political stories.
