Book Description:
Vacation can be murder...

A peaceful vacation on the charming Scottish island of Iona sounds idyllic to sometime sleuth Dorothy Martin. But Dorothy soon finds that while Iona is charming, her vacation won't be peaceful. Thrown in with a bickering American church tour, she tries to keep her distance. But she can't stay away from murder.

Everybody believes the unpleasant American's fatal fall from a cliff is accidental. Everybody, that is, except Dorothy. The only witness, she saw a small clue the police dismiss, one that makes her believe the death was not an accident. With the police closing the case, Dorothy feels bound to investigate. But it's a choice she may regret...

A wonderful Dorothy Martin, sleuth, light mystery by Jeanne M. Dams. While Dorothy is on vacation in Scotland, she meets some Americans from many different religions who surprise her by their lack of Christian graces! Then an American falls to his death, and Dorothy worries that it may not have been an accident as all seem to believe! A quaint village with warm believeable characters encircles us with appealing Scottish charm while a storm rages! You will want to read this without putting it down!!!

In this, the third Dorothy Martin mystery, she meets up with a group of Christians touring the Isle of Iona off the coast of Scotland. Naturally, a suspicious death occurs and it is up to Dorothy to help the police. Dorothy is reminiscent of Ms. Marple and just as delightful to read. Loved her, love the story--even with the Christian bashing.

This is a new series for me and I am enjoying the set. In the third, Dorothy, a transplanted American widow now living in England where all the best cozies happen, goes on a holiday in Scotland where she once again encounters murder. Being a busybody ala Miss Marple, she once again has to get involved.

Third in a series about an American widow and amateur sleuth living in an English cathedral town and vacationing on the island of Iona in this installment.

I love Dorothy and this book is no exception. The description Iona's landscape and inhabitants is fasinating and informative, made we want to hop on the next flight to Scottland.

In this book, Dorothy Martin is off to Scotland for a trip that turns into a nightmare. Someone takes a fatal fall. Is it an accident or murder? The weather turns bad and everyone is trapped on the island of Iona. Dorothy is missing Alan who's off to a conference in Belgium. An interesting and fun read.

Jeanne Dams writes delightful and engaging mysteries, set in England with a transplanted, widowed, American, retired schoolteacher as the hero.
