Book Description:
Oversized, outrageous Mary Alice and her prim sister Patricia Anne have been looking forward to the gala benefit being staged to raise money for the restoration of Vulcan, Birmingham's ever-tarnishing unnatural wonder. And what a show it is, with a grand finale that has thirty sequined Elvis impersonators high-kicking in unison! From the front row, "Mouse" and "Sister" have a perfect view of the action when one of the dancing Kings keels over dead into the bandstand. This Elvis clone has not only left the building ... he's left this life, courtesy of a switchblade knife in the back. And when the murder weapon turns up in Patricia Anne's very sensible purse, the perennially law-abiding "Mouse" is understandably all shook up. Suspicious minds have her pegged as the prime suspect in this bizarre case of Elvis elimination. And if she doesn't do some serious sleuthing, she could end up doing the Jailhouse Rock!

This book starts out just a tad bit slow for my taste (although it might have something to do with the fact that I started reading it while in a waiting room), but all in all is a very enjoyable wrap up to this pleasant series featuring "Mouse" and "Sister," two Southern ladies with a penchant for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anne George is a brilliant example of a true Southern woman: sassy, tough, and well-spoken. Her books reflect this and I am a HUGE fan of the Southern Sisters books. The mysteries are always interesting and sometimes even take me by surprise. In Murder Boogies with Elvis, Mouse and Sister can't wait for the fundraiser to revive the Vulcan; when one of the Elvis impersonators winds up dead, they can't help but stick their noses in. It is a real hoot and I LOVED it. This may be my favorite in the series.

With a title like this...one expects this book to be a hoot.....and it is! A king-sized tale of hip-shakin' mayhem and murder most tacky. From the front row, "Mouse" and "Sister" have a perfect view of the action when one of the dancing Kings keels over dead into the bandstand. This Elvis clone has not only left the building....he's left this life, courtesy of a switchblade knife in the back.

I am sad that this is the last book of this series due to the death of Anne George. The sisters are once again involved in a hilarious murder mystery. Reliably a very good "cozy" mystery.

This was my first experience with the "Southern Sisters Mysteries" series; and I thoroughly enoyed it.

The sisters are at it again in Anne George's final mystery to find who killed the Elvis impersonator. Couls it be Sister's future son in law or step son? Will sister really say I do?

A GREAT series full of fun and laughter. And a good mystery, too!
