I really liked this one, & I'm not a big fan of medieval reomance. The characters were multidimentional, the secondary characters were interesting; the plot was good & well-developed. A touch of mystery, a twist here, an awwww there - all makes for an enjoyable read.

Was hard to get into...main character is so cold...different kind of book...

I loved the out of shape yet lordly hero. Very funny to watch him get over himself.

Very different hero. Loved the story.

Only a threat to her life could have made strong-willed Lady Alisoun hire Sir David of Radcliffe to protect her castle. Although he had once been a hero and master swordsman, the good life had been a little too good to the lord, and his warrior skills were as rusty as an old suit of armor. But he needed the money to support his motherless daughter, and Alisoun was in no position to haggle. At Alisoun's grand estate, Sir David did indeed discover mischief-makers afoot. But what surprised him most was how quickly his own well-protected heart was in danger of falling to the fiery damsel who brought him to his knees.

This book is not one of Cristina Dodd's best, but it's not bad. Sir David was rather a charming character.

Bought new, never read. Grrr, why do I do that?

The sensitive and often humorous interaction between the hero and heroine keeps the story moving at top speed and should win this writer an even broader audience.
