Fourth in the Rei Shimura mystery series set in Tokyo. This one gets into the whole culture of Japanese manga (comics) when Rei undertakes a freelance assignment from a magazine geared toward foreigners in Japan about the history of manga. When one of the members of a manga circle producing knock-off comics about popular Mars Girl is murdered, Rei once again becomes involved in a mystery since she interviewed the murdered man and has been looking for the missing artist of the group as well. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series immensely and this was no exception.

this book was not as interesting as her others for me, it has to do with the comic book industry in Japan, drawing, writing and production.

The fourth in the series of mysteries involving Rei Shimura, a young Japanese American woman living in Japan. This time she gets involved with the world of manga - Japanese comic books - and befriends a couple of male exotic dancers. When one of them is killed, Rei has to find the connections between the worlds, while trying not to become the killer's next target. Like the previous books in the series, this is well written and engaging. Recommended for Japanophiles, fans of manga, and anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries with a touch of the exotic,

This was real good but not a good as the others. I think I miss her other boyfriend.

This is a fascinating, suspenseful read. I loved the glimpse into the comic culture of Japan, and as usual, it was fun to follow Rei around on her escapades.
