I like the idea of a former cop turned "Merry Maids" type business owner solving crimes, but about halfway through it the heroine seemed to lose focus on the crime that began the book, which is surprising. Unlike what a quote on the back of the book says, I was not kept on the edge of my seat. But it is a decent read, and had some amusing parts.

This is the last in the Callahan Farrity series. I enjoyed these books and all of the characters, and am sad that there are no other books continuing their stories. This final book wraps up the series but still leaves room for more. Callahan Garrity is a PI and owns and runs a cleaning service, HOUSE MOUSE. She is a former Atlanta police woman. In this book, her ex-partner and good friend (a current Atlanta police officer) is shot after a St. Patrick's Day celebration. The mystery of who and why he was shot is what Callahan investigates. I would recommend this book, but would suggest you start with the 1st book in the series, EVERY CROOKED NANNY, so you can appreciate the characters even more.

This was the first book by this author that I have read, but I would read others. It was a little slow to grab me, even though the murder happens pretty early in the book. It really picked up though, and what looked like a simple robbery got REALLY complicated. Good, fast read.
