Book Description:
Sir Alexander de Ashby has always been known as the bad boy of the Templar Knights. Now his reputation has caught up with him as he is scheduled to hang at dawn for attempting to sell some Templar treasure.

However, since Alex bears a startling resemblance to a deceased earl who held valuable land in England's wars against Scotland, he is given a reprieve in exchange for agreeing to impersonate the earl and help infiltrate the castle. The earl's widow, Lady Elizabeth of Selkirk is no dolt, however, and she knows something is up from the start. However, she was only married to her husband for a short time before his capture, so she chalks up her confusion to that fact and eventually accepts Alex into her life and her bed...

Eventually the ruse is discovered, hearts are broken, and Alex is kicked out of Dunleavy, but as the English prepare to invade the castle, Alex realizes that he loves Elizabeth more than his own life and that suddenly this bad boy is finally ready to make good.

I'm not a big fan of medieval romance, but I really enjoyed this one! It's a story of how a self-loathing Templar finds redemption through honor and the love of a good woman. The main protagonist is truly evil, & though the hero is flawed, he is an interesting character. The historical background with Robert the Bruce just made the story that much richer. Enjoy.
