When a plague
strikes Bamarre,
Princess Addie must
save her sister.

Brave and adventureous, Princess Meryl dreams of fighting dragons and protecting the kingdom of Bamarre. Shy and fearful, Princess Addie is content to stay within the safety of the castle walls. The one thing that the sisters share is their unwavering love for each other.

The tables are turned, however, when the Gray Death leaves Meryl fatally ill. To save her sister, meek Princess Addie must find the courage to set out on a dangerous quest filled with dragons, unknown magic, and death itself. Time is running out, and the sisters' lives - and the future of the kingdom of Bamarre - hang in the balance.

I would never ever be able to write a summary suphiseing to this book. I love this book so much, I like to wait to read it until I do not remember a lot of it, to get the full effect again. Most definitly get this book. It is beautifully written. You will not be disapointed, you will feel like you are really with Addie, when she is trapped in the Cave with the Dragon, Really with Addie when she is in the forest that has many creatures, and really with her when Ryce the sorcorer comes to save her. This book might sound too off the deep end to get into, but it truly is one of the best books I ever read, and I am not that into fantasy books.

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this book - Carson Levine has a way of leaving the wonderful parts of fairy tales intact, while bringing them into the 21st century. I'm sure children enjoy these books, but I assure anyone wanting to give it a try that an adult will enjoy it as well.

Written for age 10 and up. Two princesses live in a tower, Merrill is very brave and shy Addie is stricken with illness and doesn't take risks.
