Book Description:
1973 Newbery Honor Book. The inseparable Frog and Toad are introduced to readers through five wonderfully silly adventures. Like an innocent Laurel and Hardy, the two amphibians show the true meaning of friendship - Toad tells stories to Frog when Frog is sick, Frog helps search for Toad's lost button, and Frog writes a letter to Toad because he never receives any mail. These marvelous tales touch both the heart and the funny bone.

Five further adventures of two best friends as they share cookies, plant a garden, and test their bravery. An "I Can Read" Book from a Caldecott Winning author.

All four of the Frog and Toad books are exceptional in every way. The artwork is beautiful (I painted murals based on the illustrations in this book in my baby daughter's bedroom), and the stories have such a wholesome and wise sense of friendship that they are a delight for adult and child readers alike. This may well be your child's first introduction to the 'odd couple cliche/archetype. A favorite book for elementary school teachers around grades 2 and 3. Highly recommended!

This book is comprised of five wonderful stories featuring Frog and Toad. In The List, Toad makes 'A list of things to do today,' but when the wind blows the list away, Toad doesn't remember what to do, very funny, reminded me of my sister when she was young, as she used to make lists like this, always beginning with 'Wake up.' In The Garden, Frog gives seeds to Toad to plant so that he can have a garden too, but the seeds are too frightened to grow, very cute. In Cookies, Toad makes delicious cookies and brings them to Frog to taste, a hilarious tale about will power or the lack there of. In Dragons and Giants, Frog and Toad test their bravery together, adorable. In The Dream, Toad worries that he will be lonely after he has a dream that he has lost Frog. Frog and Toad Together is a Newbery Honor Book, great tales of friendship. I loved it!
