I tried three times to read this one and each time I cringed at the saccharine-sweetness of the little, perfect town. Perhaps I'm not the target audience for this one.

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! I have heard so many good things about the Mitford series and I ordered it not quite knowing what to expect. The characters are all so real and loveable :) I am now working my way through the rest of the series!

Wonderful heartwarming book. It was so descriptive that it made me feel like I was actually in the small town of Mitford everytime I opened it, and I couldn't wait to read more each time I finally put it down at night. The characters are really personable. My favorite character is Dooley...love his interaction with all the townspeople. Took me a few chapters to really get into it, but I am so glad that I did...I highly, highly recommend this one!!!

A few years ago my mom and I were reading in our living room, and she was reading this book. Then all of a sudden, she started laughing until her face turned red. I was very confused and kept asking her what was so funny and she finally read me an excerpt from "At Home in Mitford" about Barnabus. Then I laughed until MY face was red. From then on, I was hooked. What a great series!

This is the first novel in the Mitford series. I love these books. Father Tim, the bachelor rector contends with a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away and an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge.

At Home in Mitford is exactly the kind of book to curl up with a cold night. It is full of rich characters and descriptions and has an old-timey charm.

This is book 1 of the Mitford Years. I loved this entire series and I'm usually more of a mystery lover. Father Tim is still one of my favorite characters. It is fun and inspiring to get to know him and the townspeople.

This is about Father Tim, his dog Barnabas, and his Church Secretary. Disappearing jewels and a secret that is 60 years old. Very UpBeat

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rectorm wants something more. Add an attractive neighbor, lovable but unloved boy, jewel theft and a 60 year old secret, Suddenly He gets more than he bargained for.

This book and all that followed in the "Mitford Series" were just wonderful. The author developed the characters in a little town such that they became like friends. Towards the end of the series, I was ordering books not yet published!
