Book Description:
Nancy Atherton's growing number of fans will certainly be delighted by Aunt Dimity's latest appearance in the honey-colored English cottage she bequeathed to her "niece," Lori Shepherd. Thanks to Aunt Dimity, Lori's life has taken on fairy-tale proportions: she's financially set for life and happily married--or so she thinks. When Lori's plans for a second honeymoon to England with her workaholic husband fall through, she begrudgingly takes along her father-in-law--who promptly disappears, leaving behind a mysterious note. Inspired and guided by the ghost of Aunt Dimity and her inimitable blue journal, Lori's search for the elderly gentleman turns into a harrowing mission to uncover a centuries-old family secret--complicated by mistaken identities, falsified deeds, family feuds, and Lori's unseemly attraction to her husband's beguiling English cousin. In a delightful chase that takes her all over the English countryside, Lori discovers the true meaning of marital bliss, and Nancy Atherton's fans, new and old, will savor a masterpiece of old-fashioned fun.

Atherton returns to the original characters of the Aunt Dimity story, Lori and Bill (and Aunt Dimity's journal), in Aunt Dimity's Good Deed. In this story, Lori must figure out why William Willis Sr has left the cottage in such a hurry. She and young Nell set off on an adventure trying to track down William Sr. and unravelling the mysteries of the Willis family tree at the same time. A very enjoyable read!

A charming, warm mystery with characters that the reader can care about. Has eccentric characters and a hint of the supernatural.

Lori's second honeymoon isn't going well - husband Bill had to stay behind in Boston to deal with a client. So, here she is in England with her father-in-law instead of her beloved. But then he takes off on a quest of a 300 year old mystery involving the quarrel between his ancestors, 2 brothers, one of whom left England for America in disgrace. Not only is Lori worried, but so is Aunt Dimity.

In this story, Nell is almost a teenager, but a very self-possessed and elegant teen. She begs to join Lori in the search for Lori's father-in-law. Their travels send them all over the English countryside, meeting some interesting and strange relatives. Even the elusive Aunt Dimity seems puzzled.

Both followers of the series and those new to it will enjoy Lori and Nell's adventures.

Shades of...well, shades anyway - Aunt Dimity isn't alive but she is communicating. Lori is the one who talks with her and together they - sort of solve mysteries. This one takes them into a centuries old feud.

Quirky but fun, a little mystery, a little ghost story
