gotta say I read this as a samll child and again as an adult, it just isn't as good as charlie and the chocolate factory, but still worth the time to take to read it.

You can obviously tell it is written by R.D. because of the style and vocabulary. I advise reading willy wonka and the choclate factory first.

Charlie's back!--in the further adventures of the Bucket brigade and Mr. Willy Wonka, chocolate-maker extraordinaire.
Charlie Bucket, last seen flying a giant elevator through the skies in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is still flying. Only now he and Mr. Wonka have picked up Charlie's parents and grandparents, and the elevator has picked up speed. They're through the roof again, and launched on a fantastic journey to outer space! Visiting the world's first space hotel, battling the dreaded Vermicious Knids, making the President of the United States very nervous, and saving the world--and it's only the beginning of this remarkable, cliff-hanging adventure.
