I reread this childhood favorite recently. This time I was much more aware of it's cloying moralising tone, but the story is still sweet and the characters still timeless. A bit dated but still a good read, even for an adult.

One of the best classics out there. The drama, romance, friendship aspects of this book is wonderful and the characters will stay with you forever.
