This is the first book in a laugh out loud series about a fiesty octogenarian and the eccentric members in her community in a small town in southern Illinois. If you are from a small town you will enjoy the somewhat exaggerated portrayals of the locals and their interactions with each other, and as always there is a little bit of truth in each parody.

Fun book in the style of Jan Karon, Philip Gulley and Lisa Samson. Thoroughly enjoyable!

I thought this might be a little too "sweet" and simplistic, but I found myself thoroughly entertained. I enjoyed the characters very much. In fact, I wasted no time in requesting, receiving the second book in the series and now am ready to go on to the third. It's a light read, very homey and comforting. Delightful!

This book is a delightful story. It is a light read that also brings attention to the idea of change and progress. Definitely a book I would suggest to friends.

Good light read....I would not compare it to Mitford/Karon though, I personally thought it didn't "hold a candle" to Karon. A bit too innocent?

I have found a new favorite series. If you love the Mitford or Ladies of Covington books, you will enjoy this series!
