Mitford's village rector, Father Tim, is running scared. he can no longer deny (even to himself), that he's in love with his neighbor, Cynthia Coppersmith. Cynthia, after all, sees in him a man of warmth and daring—if only he'll meet her halfway. But now a wealthy widow is pursuing Father Tim with hot casseroles. Abounding with characters both old and new, A Light in the Window will compel you to laugh out loud.

One of the books in the Mitford / Father Tim series. I read all the books in the series and enjoyed every one of them. Light and easy reading with many heart warming stories 'within' a story about community, good stewardship, friendship, love and more. Not my usual genre but I enjoyed Jan Karon's writing immensely. All the books in the series made the rounds of my book loving friends, and we all agreed, we wish there was at least 'one' more to read.

The Mitford series is delightful! Definitely a feel-good read! The characters and village setting are all very charming. You'll fall in love with them and wish that you live in Mitford yourself, unless you already do ... then we'll all envy you. Definitely recommend the entire series!

Jan Karon's books are a delight, a growing romance of a middle age pastor and his neighbor lady. a love that grows as she gets to know his friends, his retirement and how do they handle that?

#2 in the Mitford series. Dooley is 12. Father Tim is trying to get to know Cynthia his next door neighbor better but running into lots of upsets along the way.
