Ooops. That was Spanish. But translate that into Italian and you've got yourself a nice, easily readable and interesting mystery. This is my first Donna Leon book, and I think I'll be reading more of her.

A terrific novel of suspense that finds commisario Brunetti and his indispensable secretary, Signorina Elettra, navigating the murky waters of Venentian Society. Author Donna Leon takes readers to a Venice that tourists rarely see.
Great book taking place in Italy.
Fascinating characters and an interesting look at life in Venice, but I found the writing a bit slow in places. Otherwise, a good read.
Another excellent Guido Brunetti mystery set in beautiful Venice. I've enjoyed every Donna Leon mystery I've read -- most of them -- and this one is very good.
an engaging mystery set in Venice: Leon's detective, Commissario Guido Brunetti, investigates the mystery of a very disagreeable old woman's death, in the meantime missing many delicious lunches prepared by his wife (the descriptions of the food will send you out to your nearest Italian restaurant--or inspire you to learn to cook Mediterranean food yourself!)

Donna Leon never disappoints. Set in enigmatic Venice with good guy Inspector Brunetti as the main character, Doctored Evidence is an excellent mystery.
