Ten days later, in Venice, Danko arrives breathless and bedraggled at Jon Smith's table at an outdoor cafe in Venice. But he barely opens his mouth before his body is ripped apart by a spray of assassins' bullets. Smith, eluding the hail of bullets, gives chase - only to witness the assassins themselves falling prey to a brutal execution. With only the scant clues left behind by Danko to go on, Jon Smith and Covert-One quickly conclude that someone is out to do the unthinkable - attempt to steal Russia's store of the smallpox virus.

Patricia S. (The specter of smallpox has been eliminated from the earth, right? Oh, but there are small amounts of the deadly stuff kept secure in the USA and Russia. Oh, really? In this book, a bit of the smallpox is smuggled out of Russia and sent straight to ... but that's the core of the plot and you'll have to read it for yourself. A fine plot, one that will keep you turning the pages.
Another action filled book. Hard to put down once it gets going.
This is my favorite Robert Ludlum book-non-stop action!

William B. (A very good ludlum novel. Done in his usual supurb style.
Typical Robert Ludlum story with lots of action and suspense. It is about someone possibly stealing smallpox virus from the Soviet Union and releasing it on the world.
