Book Description:
Lilith, the consort of the Unnamed One, has released the Damned, tortured souls from all levels of Hell, to walk the streets as the living dead. A dark chaos leaks onto Earth, taking the form of a deadly contagion that not even the Neteru team can handle. One touch from these deadly creatures infects a human, driving him to madness, death... and worse.

This time, Damali Richards, the Vampire Huntress (aka the millennium Neteru), Carlos, and the Guardians cannot effectively close ranks. The infection spreads to key team members and threatens to wipe out the entire squad. Even the Covenant is infected. They must track down the Chairman before members of the Neteru-Guardian team are lost and the team implodes. The only antidote is to behead Lilith. But first they must find her.

I read this before all of the others in the series and it was still good. It stands on it's own and the author gives enough detail so you aren't completely in the dark

For those of you who are fans of MS. Banks, she brought is with her new installment on the huntress series. This is series crosses genres. It appeals to horror, suspense, romance and erotica lovers.

The damned follows Damali's and Carlos's life after Carlos discovers his male Neteru powers and does battle with evil. They have accidentally released hell on earth and started a virus that could destroy the earth. Her family is falling apart. There is still a score to settle with the chairman and Lilith.
Carlos is still straddling the fence between good and evil. As a maater of fact the whole world is. The passion has began to fade between the two lovers and its causing issues between everyone. The barrier between them pisses off Carlos and nearly kills Damali. Sometimes the hero is the worst enemy.
Damali's branches off on her own for the first time in her life. unsure what to do about Carlos, she either wants to throw him down and make love to him or beat the hell out of him. The man and her family is driving her crazy.
There are so many twist and turns in this book that you never know who to root for and who to be mad at. Like her others, this book is also full of hot, passion filled love scenes.
If you have never read one of her books start now! This is one series of books that you will nmot be ablew to put down once you start!

I must admit, I didn't love Minion. In fact, I begrudgingly read The Awakining. Afterwards, I found myself in love with her fresh take on the Vampire mythology. I love how L.A. Banks mixes spirituality with the horror, mythology, and sexuality. I especially appreciate the complexity of the characters and their moral struggles. If you regularly route for the underdog, you will love this series. If you are a person who finds religeon and its many facets fascinating you will love this series. If you are tired of the love affair with vampires and want a fresh take on the mythology, you will LOVE this series.
