Book Description:
Ethan Damont's legendary gambling skills have earned him a place at the gaming tables of London's most exclusive homes. He has used his dubious place in Society to aid The Liar's Club. But his latest favor to the group has not only put his life in danger-it has thrown him together with the woman who tempts him to forgo his rakish ways. Lady Jane Pennington is the ravishing niece of a suspected traitor. Now it's Ethan's job to discover if the woman he finds irresistible is naïve to her uncle's deceit-or guilty of treason against the Crown...

Jane can barely wait for the Season to end-until she meets Ethan Damont. After a humiliating first encounter, Jane expects a scoundrel like Ethan to joke at her expense. Instead, he behaves like a perfect gentleman. But just as Jane finds herself overcome by her desire for Ethan, he takes her captive. Suddenly, she is pulled into a dangerous world where it's impossible to know who is friend-and who is foe. Will Ethan prove to be her undoing...or the love she has always longed for?

Ethan Damont is a professional gambler, and two different organizations would like him to be a spy in Regency England. He's got a kitten, an omnicient butler he refers to as Jeeves, and a deep love for Lady Jane Pennington. Jane has an evil uncle, a lot of courage, and a deep love for Ethan Damont. He believes that she's too good for him, and sets out to make the world a better place for her regardless. She's decided that he's what she wants, and has got a few surprises up her own sleeve.

Loved this book, which I picked up from the library on a whim. Lots of fun with some twists and turns and suspense and enjoyable characters. Will definitely be checking out more books from this author.

This book is set in England during one of the Napoleonic wars. Most of the characters are involved in spying in one way or another, which I think makes it exciting. Spies on both sides try to enlist Ethen Damont, the main character. He's not sure which way to go until his relationship with Jane Pennington helps him decide.

I haven't read this one so here's the Booklist Review:

The last time Ethan Damont inadvertently become mixed up with the Liar's Club, he nearly got himself killed. Thus, Ethan is a tad reluctant to accept the renegade band of spies' invitation to join up until he discovers that their latest assignment involves Lady Jane Pennington. The Liar's Club wants Ethan to use his skills as a gentleman gambler to get close to Jane's uncle, Lord Harold Maywell, who is suspected of being a traitor to the Crown. Since their first unconventional encounter left Ethan wanting to get to know the sharp-tongued Jane better, he is tempted into accepting the mission, desperately hoping that Jane isn't tangled up in her uncle's treacherous web of deceit. Bradley continues her luscious Liar's Club series with another tale of danger and desire, and as always her clever prose is imbued with a wicked wit. Readers who like their Regency historicals passionate, perilous, and laced with insouciant charm will find Bradley's books to be a wonderful indulgence.
