I've been reading the Rebus series in order and found they've been getting better and better. Rankin kicked things off weakly with "Knotts and Crosses," but picked up steam with "Hide and Seek." "Tooth and Nail" offers a good police procedural filled with mystery, dry/dark humor, and and exciting conclusion as Rebus tracks a sadistic killer in London.

The third in the series. This time, Rebus leaves Scotland for England, where he's asked to help in a series of serial killings. Another in a great series!

Not my favorite of the John Rebus novels, but an entertaining - if graphic and violent - read nonetheless. If you're new to the series, don't start with this one. Check out an earlier one to get a handle on Rebus.
