Book Description:
As a teacher at an academy for young women, Flora O'Donnell is able to hide from her past and her true identity. She feels empathy for her student, Johanna Cheney, who has been all alone since the day she arrived, until one day when her guardian appears, unannounced, for a visit. Blaise Cheney visits with his niece and they formulate a plan that includes Johanna returning to France with him. The next day Blaise proposes an arrangement to Flora, offering her a far better life than she could ever dream of, plus the advantage of leaving England and her past behind. Flora agrees to become Blaise's wife in name only for two years, during which time Johanna will be presented to society and then married. After that, Flora will be free to pursue her own life, without Blaise, but with all the advantages of his name, his position in society and his money. But neither Flora nor Blaise counted on falling in love with each other. They travel to the chateau where Flora eventually learns about the curse on Cheney brides and the secrets of Blaise's past, yet she is not discouraged. Her love for Blaise grows and her happiness knows no bounds...until she learns the truth behind Blaise and Johanna's plan. But this is only the beginning! I enjoyed this book more for the author's style of writing, but the story was good too!Exceptional writing makes this story one of the best I have read so far this year! The words flow like a rapturous, lyrical melody! Ms. Willman has written a winning romance! The plot and characters will carry you away on a suspenseful and fascinating journey! This is the perfect book for someone who loves enchantments, mermaids, and a good love story.
Elley C. (Marianne Williams weaves a warm tale about challenge, hope and love. Her characters were well thought out and seem to come alive on the paper. The hero has a tendancy to be a bit overbaring at times, manipulating to get his way....but we all love a rougue I suppose. The heroine stands her ground, through all kinds of twists and turns. As you can I tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to Marianne's next book.
