Maureen H. from HAMILTON, VA wrote on 5/25/2008...Hard to find Book 1, a Shane Scully series. Series creator is also creator of popular TV shows like Rockford Files, Wiseguy and the Commish. Start here and you will be hooked on the characters which continue to grow throughout the series and become like old friends.

Great cop/thriller story. Starts out with a bang, a detective shoots his ex-partner who supposedly has an impeccable reputation. Of course, things are not as they seem. This suspense drew me right in and keep me engrossed to the very end.

We are four out of four on this book - my self, husband, mother & best friend - all really enjoyed this book as well as the other Shane Scully novels. This is the *first* of five books in which LAPD detective Shane Scully is the main character.
This is a great book if you like a good police novel. It's a fast read with a simple but engaging plot.
