Book Description:
Dear Reader:

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be immortal? To journey through the night stalking the evil that preys on humans? To have unlimited wealth, unlimited power? That is my existence, and it is dark and dangerous. I play hero to thousands, but am known to none. And I love every minutes of it.

Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to my worst nightmare: a conservative woman in a button-down shirt. Or in Amanda's case, one buttoned all the way up to her chin. She's smart, sexy, witty, and wants nothing to do with the paranormal--in other words, me.

My attraction to Amanda Devereaux goes against everything I stand for. Not to mention the last time I fell in love it cost me not only my human life, but also my very soul. Yet every time I look at her, I find myself wanting to try again. Wanting to believe that love and loyalty do exist.

Even more disturbing, I find myself wondering if there's any way a woman like Amanda can love a man whose battle scars run deep, and whose heart was damaged by a betrayal so savage that he's not sure it will ever beat again.

This was my first Dark Hunter book and I fell in love with the series. Kyrian is a great character (an ancient Greek general who was betrayed by his wife and later crucified). Now he spends the nights wearing yummy leather pants and saving humans from the dark creatures of the night (who happen to be sinfully good looking as well). Then he meets Amanda, the accountant, and he gets a bit distracted. I love how Ms. Kenyon develops her heroes (with flaws) and the secondary characters are as interesting as the main ones. You can't wait to read about them as well! And the smut is pretty good, as well. Love the scene where Amanda gets Kyrian over his fear of having his arms immobilized (as in being crucified) by tying him to the bed and ...(involves whip cream)! Great stuff! Each book in the DH series gives you more pieces of the puzzle that is the DH world, and you leave each book hungering for more. Enjoy!

Dark-Hunter Series
Follows the novel Fantasy Lover (Prequel) and the novellas The Beginning (in Sins of the Night) and Dragonswan (in Tapestry Anthology) [if you want to read them in order]. Ties into Fantasy Lover with character overlap which I really enjoyed. I liked this book better than Fantasy Lover, because it starts introducing the Dark-Hunter characters and the role they play in controlling the Daimons who threaten humanity. Very, very hot sex scenes between the main characters. What a lucky girl!!

Wow, I am finding more and more favorite authors!! In my opinion, this book was somewhat better than Fantasy Lover (#1), in that it develops more characters and creates more background for future novels. I love how it tied into the first book, and brought back characters and caught you up on how they are doing. And, even with all of this taking place, there was still so much of the story of Amanda and Kyrian that you were definitely kept on the edge of your seat. I can only hope the series continues this way.

I LOVE how it ties into ancient mythology and folklore. The only drawback to that, I am not familiar with the legends and such, and felt myself wanting to Google all these characters (Greek Gods and such) and acquaint myself with them and find the resemblance to Kenyon's version. I did get a little lost when so many character names were thrown in, in one chapter, but I know it is just a lead in for future novels. I was very satisfied with how Amanda was inquisitive and got very good details and explanations to how everything has come about to current times. I am confident I will enjoy the rest of the series and now I am anxiously awaiting #3.

I am intrigued with Kenyon's version of vampires (created by gods) and can't wait to read of the other "creatures" she has developed.

Kyrian is 6’5” --Have Mercy! He is truly one of my favorite heroes. Actually, this couple is a favorite of mine. They both have big hearts and are very likable. Now that I’ve entered the world of the Dark Hunter, there’s a lot of information pumped into this book. I knew I had a lot more books to read in the series, so I really tried to pay attention to the who’s and the what’s. Night Pleasures and the world of Dark Hunter, is packed full of adventure, survival and passion. I enjoyed all of the characters in this book and it was a great story- the romance very real. I can see why so many are reading this series. I didn’t want to wait for the library’s copy for the next book, so, I went out and bought Talon the Celt’s story, Night Embrace. The best thing about this series, is that it’s like an action packed show that you can start and stop at any time. And there are still more books coming out!

"Night Pleasures" is a fun read. Kyrian of Thrace is a Dark-Hunter - one who kills vampires who prey on humans. He wakes up one day handcuffed to what he calls his "worst nightmare", Amanda Devereaux. She looks conservative, dressed in a button-down shirt, buttoned all the way up to her chin. As he gets to know her, he finds her smart, sexy, and witty. However, she wants nothing to do with the paranormal which includes him.

Little does he know that Amanda comes from a family of 8 girls where she is the youngest and the only one not involved with the paranormal. All her sisters are either witches, forture-tellers, vampire-hunters, and such. Thus Amanda's attire and strivings to be as conservative as possible.

Meanwhile, Kyrian has some super evil god after him that he has to not only kill but protect Amanda from. To make matters worse, Amanda's twin is a vampire-hunter who's determined to kill Kyrian thinking he's one of the evil vampires, a Damian, instead of a Dark Hunter. As Amanda starts falling in love with Kyrian, she gets more involved in his battles, including the one with her sister.

Kyrian started falling in love with Amanda shortly after he met her. But he's afraid to get involved because he became a Dark Hunter because of his first wife's betrayal a couple of thousand years ago.

There's lots of suspense and plenty of humor underlying the plot. I loved the characters, especially Amanda with her ability to take things in stride and her compassionate nature.

Great book is Kenyon's fantastic Dark-Hunter series! After reading several DH books in a somewhat random order, I'd suggest that you do read the books in order as you will get a richer experience. Kenyon carries many of her characters throughout various books.

Also, the Acheron character (the powerful head Dark-Hunter) progressively develops in each book. We learn little things about him and his mysterious background along the way. He will have is own book in 2007.

Bk2 in the Dark-Huntere series is the story of Kyrian of Thrace and Amanda Devereaux, a character continued from the previous book. The Devereaux clan of Mom, Pop, and 8 daughters are a weird (seemingly) family in New Orleans that figures prominently in the series. Characters are well developed, good story line, great read. Bring on book three!

I thought the prequel was a much better read, but I liked the premise behind the book! I thought there was a bit too much swooning going on, but I still wanted to find out how it ended. its the story of Kyrian of Thrace, aka Vampire Hunter, and his insatiable relationship with Amanda.

A Dark-Hunter novel, this is the story of Kyrian of Trace destroys vampires, is immortal, has unlimited powers, unlimited wealth and loves every minute of his life. Until he wakes one night handcuffed to a conservative woman in a button-down shirt, or rather, one buttoned up to her chin. Not the type he is attracted to and she wants nothing to do with the supernatural, including Kyrian. So why is it so hard for him to forget her? Kenyon at her best as always.

Loved that this book allowed Julian from the first book (Fantasy Lover) to meet up with his old friend who is the hero from this one. After reading the first two books in this series, I am getting to know some Greek history and the gods. Unbelievably, some of this information has come in handy when I work crossword puzzles. That aside, I must say I'm really enjoying the deep commitment and love that is ultimately described so remarkably by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Fun read! After going through all the Charlaine Harris/Sookie Stackhouse books, I found myself searching for some more paranormal romance novels. I must say, these books do not disappoint. I do feel as if I'm carrying around a pornographic novel, by the title and cover. But I'm sure I'll have finished it soon enough not to worry much longer. I am enjoying this more than Fantasy Lover, mostly due to the backstory and world Sherrilyn Kenyon creates. I like her combination of Greek mythology with vampires and other demons. Such a nice balance of action, adventure, mythology and romance. I'm not finished yet, but I find myself picking up the book every chance I get.

I did read one of the Dream Hunter books out of order, and I much more enjoy going back to the beginning of the series. Read them in order if you can. The world is built layer by layer, with a whole host of characters. Check out Sherrilyn's website if you get lost. I'm definitely happy to have found this series. I can't wait to read them all!

It's not the best vampire romance novel i've ever read but I did stay up all night wondering what would happen next.

If you are a fane of the genre, don't miss this one!
