Book Description:
Massie Block: The Briarwood boys have invaded OCD and are taking over everything. Worse, the soccer boys have become so popular that the Pretty Committee's alpha status is in serious jeopardy. So Massie lays out a New Year-New Pretty Committee rule: Anyone caught crushing on a boy will be thrown out of the NPC-forever. But will she be able to follow her own decree when she sees that Derrington has ditched his shorts-obsession in favor of ah-dorable jeans?

Alicia Rivera: Is the opposite of onboard with the boyfast. Her crush, the Ralph Lauren-luh-ving Josh Hotz, is more irresistible than crème brûlée fro-yo. But is he worth losing her spot in the NPC? And taking on the wrath of Massie?

Dylan Marvil: Is so ready for the boyfast. She's straightened her unruly red hair and permanently pressed boys out of her life. If only she could do the same with curly fries and caramel popcorn.

Kristen Gregory: Has traded her sporty-chic Pumas for Billabong board shorts and a shark tooth necklace. She claims she's sworn off boy-crushes, so what's with her Blue Crush makeover?

Claire Lyons: Spent all summer thinking about Cam's one blue eye and one green eye. But now he's moved on to a new girl faster than you can say cuh-yutest couple. At least Claire finally has a secure spot in the NPC-unless jealousy-flirting breaks the boyfast. . . .

The Clique: The only thing harder than getting in is staying in.

Now OCD has become BOCD! The boys change everything. So instead of making this a chance to flirt with the boys and get their ex's back, Massie has comes up with the NPC. The New Pretty Committee, the one on a boyfast. Another one of Massie's crazy ideas.

Can Massie stick to the boyfast herself or will she have to kick herself out of the exclusive group?

Alicia is finally getting a chance with Josh Hotz, but will it all be ruined by Massie latest scheme? Or will she be caught?

Dylan is ready to give up on boys. Will she be able to help the girls stay together?

Kristen turned into a total surfer chick over the summer. Will the others approve?

Claire still can not stop thinking about Cam. Exactly what she did all summer. But now he has a new girlfriend, and that doesn't make her very happy. What will she do to get him attracted to her again?

And with an entire school of boys at OCD, where are all these people going to fit? How will the problems be solved? And maybe the "solution" is just the start of more problems.

This is the one group of girls I love reading about, but also laugh at because of all the stupid things they do. It's fun to watch them make huge mistakes, but they always come back in a BIG way!

In this ninth “Clique novel,” the Pretty Committee (PC) is OUT and the New Pretty Committee (NPC) is IN. Faced with an invasion of Briarwood boys on Octavian Country Day School’s turf, Massie’s alpha status dreams of 8th grade begin to fade like last year’s Chanel tote. Massie announces a boyfast, that’s absolutely no flirting and no texting. The girls’ friendships are put to the test as one of their own is expelled from the NPC. The girls learn how to balance their own sense of self in a new world full of crushes. Lisi Harrison walks a fine line between expensive dreams of manolo shoes and designer handbags and alienating the average reader, who can’t afford Tiffany’s, to an LBR status (that’s Loser Beyond Repair). In the end, I heart the Clique novels and Lisi Harrison for her strong female characters that are as flawed as they are perfect.
