Book Description:
WHEN THE WIND BLOWS, the most brilliant and original "what if" suspense novel to come along in a decade, has somehow surpasses the page-turning chills of James Patterson's megabestsellers CAT & MOUSE and KISS THE GIRLS.

Frannie O'Neill, a young and talented veterinarian whose husband was recently murdered, comes across an astonishing discovery in the woods near her animal hospital. Soon after, Kit Harrison, a troubled and unconventional FBI agent, arrives on Frannie's doorstep. And then there is eleven-year-old Max -Frannie's amazing discovery - and one of the most unforgettable creations in thriller fiction.

WHEN THE WIND BLOWS will not just thrill readers. It will make their imaginations soar.

Part X-Men, part X-Files. Part adult thriller, part childrens' fantasy. Buckle up before you hop on this wild ride.

At first, I thought Patterson had finally lost it and decided to try his hand at science fiction. However, as I read further, this realistic-fictional story became a page turner rather quickly. The questions this story raised in my mind about the manipulation of human DNA to serve an evil purpose, not only made my skin crawl but forced me to bring this possibility to a conscious level for which I'd rather not. This story made me think while it kept me on the edge of my seat.

I really enjoyed this book. The storyline is pretty creepy but not far fetched.

For those of you who read Maximum Ride, this is the first book that begins the ride. In usual Patterson form, it will keep you guessing until the end, it's a great read.
