Kim M. (These are two very enjoyable stories, but nothing too far out of the ordinary. If you're a big fan of Tolkien I'd recommend you seek these out and read them, but if not, it's probably not really worth the trouble.
SARAH G. (Two short adventures in one book! All i can say is Tolkien has a very vivid imagination to be sure!! I love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. This book reads like those but far more out there and not so indepth! LOL!

My Thoughts: Two great novelettes by Tolkien, both more polished than his work in _The Hobbit_ in my opinion. Both tales have a vaguely Mediaeval setting. Recommended.
Much more along the sides of the Hobbit than Lord of the Rings. Much easier and fun read for younger audiences. I enjoyed it.
